iPad gen 2
Anyone have any firm news on when the gen2 iPad will be coming out. Both my kids have iPads and they love them but they have more money than me so I'm going to wait for the generation 2 unit to come out. All I have now is a mac mini, which I love, but I'm also on my daughter's Kindle account and it's no fun to sit at a desk to read a book. Just found out last night from her that she also has movies on that account, have my mini hooked to my TV so will try that later to see how that works. I wish they would come out with a TV with a web browser that you could use for the whole web not just the pay stuff like NetFlexs etc.

Iffen ya got an eyephone, they have reader apps for that and Netflix has an app where you can watch movies from it too. Wife reads from her Iphone all the time and loves it.
Too bad 'bout your hat. They don't have an app for that.
But nevermind that. What you need an Ipad for anyhow? Heck, you just now learning how to post pics right. With something that technologically advanced, you're liable to hurt yourself.

Nope don't have a smartphone, as you say I'm too dumb to be able to use one. I do think I will be getting an iPad tho. Or at least some tablet, leaning strong to the iPad.

If it's not in the Clarion Lier, I don't read it.

Trouble with the Ipad as I understand it, you still have to buy a data plan for internet access or it only works at home where you have internet or wi-fi service. So, you're layering on more $ in your budget. If I were you, I'd replace my phone with an Iphone and you'll have all the functionality of the Ipad in a more compact package....assuming your eyes are OK for a screen that small to read on.

My eyes are not that good so will need the larger screen. I don't have a smart phone plan and was planning on the WiFi only iPad. Would be downloading ebooks to take with me when we visit stepson, who has WiFi and sister-in-law who does not. So when we went to Foley, stepson's home, at least I could keep up with crappie.com. Had thought of getting a Kindle but would like to be able to check the web when at Jerry's. Don't want to have to up my phone plan, it's too high now along with Comcast for this old retired man.

Sounds like you on the right track. You have my permission then, but I'll be checking on your progress so don't start slacking on me. :)
