Artificial structure for gold creek

Artificial structure for sinking in Gold Creek this Saturday night, this is my first attempt at using PVC, I Generally use hardwood brush. I am open to any suggestions on my structure build. Do any of ya'll use PVC. And what changes do I need to make to the design, Suggestions welcome. I will be making three more just like it. They are made to sit right in bottom, I left all PVC open so that it fills with water and requires no weights to hold it in place. It is 6 foot long, all of the limbs are 3 feet long, it will have a fairly large profile when it is sitting on the bottom of the lake. Sorry for the blurry picture, took picture with poor lighting.

Even though it will fill with water still put some weight on it.

A brick on each end be enuff you think or do I need more weight and need to use a concrete block?

I would put a block on each end.

Might spray foam in both ends of the main trunk, put a couple of 3' or so lead lines on it and anchor it with a block. Suspend it horizontally a little ways off the bottom. Maybe zip tie an onion sack full of dog food to it to draw bait fish until it slimes over. Looking good. Hate I am not going to be here to help.

ski trip, whats a gps, I am putting them things out after dark, and I am going to use star constellations to coordinate the drop zone for these structures. So the only way to find them after saturday will be to go look for them after dark.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

What about putting rocks, sand or dirt into the 4 inch piece and then putting end caps on it. Should be enough weight to hold it in place then. Question. Did you drill holes for the 1 inch pieces to go into the 4 inch piece or glue them on?

Looks great and I would think easier to wrestle in and out of the boat than pallets.

For the limbs, I got pvc glue cap and drilled a hole in them, then took a alluminum screw(since alluminum does not rust) and screwed the caps to the pipe, then all I had to do was glue the branch into the cap. and that was all she wrote. 10 minutes of time invested. And since I Have access to scrap plumbing materials that are being thrown away, there is no cost involved in the materials other than the alluminum screws. 120 alluminum screws were about 8 bucks. Small price to pay for materials that wont rot or rust away.

Great job! It seems my work will probably get in the way of being able to be there. But if any thing changes, I will shuck it on to Dano's to help out!
