I only use the foot control when I am jigging bushes and trees where I need both hands to work my jig into cover. When trolling, the remote is awesome.
One major advantage of the Terrova, is having that option. I have had my remote battery die while on a trip. If I had the PD, I would have been forced to go home. With the Terrova, I just plugged in the FC and fished.
most of the time it is the remote only, I do not un plug my foot controll so if I want to use it just slide it over and let er go.
not many trees on my home lake, so slow trolling, or drift fishing I just sit with my feet on the side of the boat, and just enjoy the fishing, an occasional tap on the remote and poof back on track,
I love the ease of use on the remote.
Depends on what I am doing. In the brush and narrow creeks, I use foot pedal. In gusty winds when I spot fish, I use the foot pedal as the electronic anchor constantly overshoots the spot I am trying to fish.
I like fooling with the thing. Good toy.
I wish it had more memory locations as lots of the trolling paths I follow are less than a half mile long, especially in the coves.
Like the rest of them leave mind hook-up,this way have the option, mostly used the remote.

Haven't plugged the foot control in since I got the i-pilot. It might be useful fishing stumps but I mostly pull cranks or spider rig.
