Found Silver Glory/A Lil Money/and A Hog on Gold Creek/1-6-11

Well Guys Iv'e cleaned my Winchester 270 and Remingtom 30-06 sighted em in and put em up till next year. A good meat year with four deer brought home. This was my third trip to Gold Creek and I struggeled to get back into the Grove of catching em with only 5and 10 fish caught respectively the first two trips.

Today I scratched out a good limit verticle jigging a Chart tube in the pool and docks. The brush pile in the middle of the pool gave up a nice 2.8 lb hog which Dano said is the biggest he has weighed in this year. I feel honored Dano.:D The bite died off in the pool for me, so I started fishing flats with a Chart Stinger/1/32oz head and bobber fishing anywhere from 1 1/2 foot deep to three feet and slow rolling a long cast back to the boat. More than half my catch was before dark. Anyways after I get em home I look at my fish just before cleaning and see two tagged reward fish from the AGFC pictured. WOW Silver Glory, Money Fish, and a Hog all in one day LOL, it dont get any better that. :D

I would like to thank the AGFC for the Crappie/tagged fish reward program on Lake Conway. I know allot of us Gripe about you-all sometimes, but I still would'nt trade you all in for another state LOL, and over-all I do appreciate the Job You do and what You Stand For.:)

Nice catch there Russ, If a limit is what a person wants the flats will be the main producers for that, from now until the spring migration, the pool will still hold some fish but they will be spotty and fewer of them in a school. The chances of getting a monster slabs will come from the pool, however the flats will produce more for the table than the pool on a consistent basis. The flats aint been hammered to death like the pool has, they have had a safe haven on the flats for the most part. I to caught a tagged fish the other day, it was a hog like yours, well over two pounds it was 19 inches long. I am hoping for snow this weekend, I love crappie fishing in the rain, snow, and sleet. The nastier the weather the better I catch crappie. I guess I am a true diehard when it comes to inclement weather.

Yes You can keep the fish. On the tag it says AGFC Reward, Phn Number to call 1-877-470-3309 and a 5 digit number. You call the number and a person from the AGFC asks you questions about the catch and gives you an address to mail the tags in. They then send you a check in the mail. Fish are worth 5-100 dollars I believe. I have caught one before and did get my check from the AGFC, It takes awhile to get it.

Man.. I talked to yesterday morning in the pool, but then had to leave to go to work. Looks like the turned on after I left. What time did they start biting for ya?

The flats is where its going to happen more consistantly from now till spring, is what I figure.

Great catch Russ! If you ever make it to Jonesboro I wont take you fishing but to Tunica. You have luck and skill. Well after that we might have to hit Tunica Chute. Great Job.
