I am glad to see more mold makers getting into the crappie molds. Here is a new mold from kmolds called a pintail minnow. It is very similar to the other baby shad molds. It is a nice looking bait and should sell if the price comes down a little. It is only a 5 cavity and rather expesnive, but when the price drops it will sell I think. Take a look if your interested.

Have you looked at basstackles version? Its just a little bigger than than the regular baby shad. Yes its good to see other coming making more molds.
TAE, I am the one who had basstackle to make that baby shad mold. He did an excellent job on it. I have the 48 cavity and it is a sweet mold. Glad to see more mold makers getting into the crappie market. I appoligize if it seemed like I was downing the caney creek mold, I did not mean it to sound that way if it did. It is a good mold, jsut a little bigger than my taste. I do hope they can offer more cavities for the same general price in the future.
I have a question (suggestion :confused: ) :
Seems most everyone is making a "tiny shad" type of plastic bait. And that's all well & good, & it's definitely a good style ... and a proven fish producer. BUT .... why wouldn't a bait that had the same body configuration, but with an actual "fantail" shaped tail, rather than the everpresent "rat tail" shaped tail, be a good style option :confused:
I think it would give the bait a more realistic look, as well as a broader profile (viewed from the side). It could even have a short connecting "rat tail" section, between the body & fantail, if springy action to the tail would be a concern.
Now, I'm no plastics molder ... so I'm not sure of any potential problems with this body shape/configuration ... so forgive me if I'm suggesting an impossible task. :o
I'm just curious to know your thoughts on this.

It has just been my experience and most people around heres experience that the stinger tail works best overall. It is the action of that small profile little tail bouncing or whatever that does the trick I think. Snake has a few molds coming his way with the fish tail that will look awesome.
