Lake ouachita.
I grew up bass fishing it and could probably count the number of crappie I've caught there on one hand. I'm very new to crappie fishing as this is my first year to really be into it. I have the material to put out lots of bamboo structures. My biggest questions is where?
Do I need to put theses in creeks on the edges of channels or on secondary points in coves. Do I need to go up the river or stay down in the main lake area. I prefer the crystal springs area, but any where is fine with me. I'm not expecting to get any ones honey holes just alittle insight into the best places and areas for structure. Please Help!
Thanks,

i would put them on points next to channels and then up the creeks on flats near channels. that way you would have the best of both worlds. bass and crappie.

I have had good luck on point and the mouth of small coves around the Girl Scout area.

I have never had good luck catching crappie on this lake either. I know they have to be there. I suppose you would need to develope some spots similar to they way Greeson has been developed. The Crystal Springs area would be my choice to develope. I have some condos out toward the main lake between the bouys on the otherside of #9 from the chute. There are some creek arms that do have some cover sunk in them near the mouths. One thing I would keep in mind is someday the grass will start growing again. A couple of condos I put out in the dead of winter were covered up with grass in the Summer. Place them where you think the water depth will be around 30' in the Sumer time. And make them conveinient to stay out of the wind and water lice.
