Yes you can. If your transducer has a built-in temp sensor it won't be accurate glued in the hull, but sonar will work fine.
Just make sure it is pointing straight down where it's mounted.
Be sure to use the proper stuff for securing it to the hull. There can be no bubbles in it.
Is it a glass boat or Aluminum? Makes a lot of difference.
Glass,
It has to be mounted where it's solid glass, without any core material.
Best setup I ever saw that worked well was a guy took a piece of 3 or 4" pvc about 4" tall and epoxied it near the bilgepump where the bottom is solid. He then siliconed it so it would hold water and pushed the TD to the bottom of the PVC. Then he filled the PVC with water. On my glass boat that I had at the time, there was a well where the bilge pump went that held water and I just dropped the TD in the water. Worked for yrs like that..
Thanks for the help,an advice. Will give it a try.I don,t like transom mount.Hate to drill the holes. A lot of stumps where i fish also. Have a 96 skeeter, just have to take out the batteries (3) an gas tank to get to the hull.
Thanks for all your help. GOOD LUCK on your fishing trips.
