I have a Mercury 25 hp with console throttle and controls, been doin a boat cleaning and found these wires tucked behind the controls. Can anyone tell me what they would go to? Thanks for any help. If you do not have a tach on your boat.....then those could very well be the tach wires.
I sorta thought they might be. If that is what they are for, how would you go about hooking one up? I do need one. Would you just use the connector or 4 wires or both? If I buy a tac do they come with everything you need to hook them up. Also what do I need to know when buying one. Thanks again
Can you see what color the wires are? If they are Tan/Blue, Grey, Purple, and black, that is the tach / accessories harness plug.
The 4 single wires are red, brown, grey with white stripe and green withe white stripe. dont know what the wires are for but my last boat had a 25 horse and had the same wires in the pic
My money would go on tacks and other items that may hook up to the engine control
