Hey everyone, i just got done tying my first ever jigs for crappie. I made about 50 of them and wanted to know what you guys use to store them in to keep differents colors from getting mixed with the other colors. Let me know if you guys have any ideas! Thanks
I have used a couple of different methods for keeping things sorted out and organized. Some of the little plastic Storage boxes with the pull out drawers works pretty well and are about 4-5 fun dollars a piece. The boxes will hold a gang of Jigs per a drawer and can be labeld as well and the see thru fronts on the drawers make it easy to find what your looking for. I find these to be easier and sometimes cheaper than the plano tackle boxes.
For a tackle bag I use the small wallet type worm bags. In one thasts about the size of a 3 x 5 index card I can easily carry a good 200 jigs to get me through and outing on the water. I figure thats more than enough to last me out on the water and if I loose that many jigs then I am probably past my point of productivity and ready to head back to shore.
if you buy the little clear storage boxes buy them at walmart in the sewing section. There cheaper than the ones in the fishing sections...

I use a plano 3730 and then put my jigs in small pill bottles inside it. Double protection.
It really keeps stuff safe from water spray and dew so stuff doesnt get dirty or rusty before you get to use them. I dont put wet lures back in my tackle box.

Another great box i have is from the thrift store its a wood tea bag serving box. Felt lined with atleast 9 compartments and smells so good, but not for out fishing obviously.
I bought a couple of boxes with no dividers and just cut polyurethane foam slabs from packing material to go in it and hot glued em down. Not ribbed like the noodle thing (also good), I just didn't have a noodle. Buy boxes with real hinges and real catches and they last longer than the skinny cheaper molded hinges. Money well spent. Pics after Santa doesn't have me busy.
