My Dad

I'd like to thank CG everyone else who sent well wishes, prayers and thoughts to me and my family during the time my Dad was ill.

Dad passed away on Wed., just before Noon. We had his funeral today.

I was totally taken back by how many people showed up for the funeral. The best we could figure, nearly 300 people filled that little church. They filled the sanctuary with standing room only, back through the hallway and into the fellowship hall. I had no idea how many people loved, or even knew, my Dad.

My Dad was the kind of man who never wanted anyone to make a fuss over him. He told the family many times not to come over if they were going to be crying all over him. Somehow, I think he would be amazed, and probably a little pleased, at how many people turned out to pay their respects.

Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. You guys and this forum are the best!

Sorry to hear about your father passing away OkieDon. My condolences to you and your family. I know your Dad musta been a great man for that many people to come pay their respects. May he rest in peace.

I have lost both of my parents and I know what a difficult time it is for you and all of your family.

Sorry to hear of your father's passing OkieDon. With so many showing up for his funeral, it tells you how much he meant to people. Sometimes we just don't realize this.
