I don't know the answer to your question, but does it have to be tungsten? I catch plenty of gills on plain ol' leadheads.
Look on ebay. I doubt you'll find them anywhere else for less than $2 each.
I use sickle, leadhead 1/64 or 1/80 jigs and catch all the 'Gills and Shellcrackers I want. Many times I may opt for a teardrop ice jig, a #8 or #10 hook tipped with a waxie under a bobber. That will get you bit.
Thank you Chaunc. He let me know tungston shows up better on flashers which are primarily used in ice fishing. I learned something today.
Hello Ship, alias Mike. This is Don from TOLEDOOOOO !!! We use a lot of tungsten jigs here for hard water fishing. Not only to see on flashers , but, the drop rate is unbelieveable compared to lead. It really helps , getting down to a good bite & to seek out larger fish. You can also use a much smaller jig & lighter line for those stubborn gills. Good luck to all. We will be walking on water here in N/W ohio, in probably 2 or 3 weeks.
The fishing part sounds good but...it's that "ICE" part that gives me the willies.
