I have to mix my oil and gas and was wondering do you all place the oil in the gas can first? I always do it first but sometimes I need to put more gas in just to fill the tank. I was under the impression that if I place the oil first it mixes better, does it matter? Thanks guys.
Filling an empty tank, I put some gas in, then add the oil, then top it off with gas. If there's already gas in there, I'd just put the oil in and then add the gas.
Oil is soluble in gasoline and vice versa, so it will mix pretty eaisly. By the time you get from the gas pump to the boat ramp you should be good.
Thump is completly right....ALTHOUGH....I always put the oil in first...lol. Just one of those funny little things we do....they call it OCD! :) Don't forget the seafoam! lol
I will add that it's important to have a routine. Nothing like getting to your first spot and trying to remember if you put the oil in the tank!Quote:

I have actually been at the service station pulling out...then started wondering...now thats bad!! lol. I just add more if not sure....sure you'll fry some plugs from time to time...BUT you'll still have an engine. I ALWAYS want my outboard premix engines to smoke some while idling...not only do I know they are getting plenty of oil...I like the smell...yeah I'm weird! lol :) Nothing like the smell of two stroke oil in the morning!!
