RIP CJ Sadell
My daughter-in-law's nephew did not make it.
RIP SFC Charles Sadell
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Sgt. 1st Class Charles M. Sadell (Friends called him CJ), 34, of Columbia, Mo., died Oct. 24 at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of wounds suffered Oct. 5 at Arif Kala, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. (Five others in his unit died that day.) He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
He told us last time we saw him that this was his last tour. He'd already been on two tours in Iraq. He leaves behind a wife and two sons. One is a kindergartener and one is in third grade. :(
Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Very sad......my prayers go out to the family. We should all be thankful everyday for men like him.

The cost of freedom is high indeed. I mourn the loss of this, another hero who made the ultimate sacrifice and pray for the family who now is paying the ultimate cost.
CN please let me know if there might be anything else I could do for this family.

Sad news CN. Prayers for his wife and children.

Very sad indeed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. But some good news from there is, I am getting to welcome home a guy from MS in the morning who survived a blast in Afghan. He has had 36 surgeries to get him back on his feet and will be coming home tomorrow. The weird thing is his name is also CJ.

Wow! Give him a great big hug from me and thank him for his service! We must never forget what these guys/gals are doing for us.
