Nice catch! I went last weekend and there are some huge fish in that lake. Just a reminder we only have 2 weeks to fish there. Go get them.

Nice Fish. it's tempting for me to come out there, but it's going to be hard for me to chase butterfly's anywhere but lake Conway for the next few months.
So that's what a crappie looks like!
Delta,
Obviously you know alot more about peckerwood than I do. What a catch!!!! Any hints on how you did it? Tips? Pointers?
My father is in a hunting club at Roe and we fish at his place alot. Not many big crappie in their lake but lots of small ones. This was my first trip to Peckerwood. I have duck hunted there before but never fished .
peckerwood is just like any other lake the more you fish it the more you learn, i fished their the past 20years. in the summer and fall when the water is low you fish the channel and creeks and flats until you find the fish, this past friday i caught fish in 18in of water and monday they were in 5ft of water .just like cp on lake conway he know the lake like the back of his hand, and the more you know about the lake it makes catching fish a lot easer.it is hard to go to a lake you never been to and just catch a lot of fish with out a little help from someone that know the lake,if i can help any one at peckerwood let me know.
Meatgetter.
You made me feel better. I fished shallow and found some 4 foot deep water also. I enjoyed fishing there. The bird life was unreal. Pelicans, teal even some gadwalls. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
Any particular jig you prefer? Minnows?
You ever slow troll minnows when the water is up in the spring?
their i use 3 jigs we make. pinkhead, chart body, chart tail --- pink head, wine body, chart tail----- pink head, chart body, white tail---- key word- pink head . i dont fish much in ar. in the spring anymore,i fish in ms. 90% of the time. the best at peckerwood in the spring is to fish willow trees along the banks in the coves they produce good fish.
great catch meatgetter guess you are living up to your name i know if there to be caught you will get your share cong. on your up comming retirement they had better watch out meatgetter is on the loose glad to see you better since your surgery give me a call whale
