ok, I have a transducer mounted on my ipilot, now when I put the unit in the water it goes in approx 2 ft, so if I am reading 10ft on the FF, am I really at 8ft or 10ft
thanks

You would be at 12 ft because your ff is reading the depth from your transducer to the bottom
thanks G3 for clearing that up, wasnt sure if that was the correct reading or if I had to consider how far in the water the ducer was, I know it was a crazy question but one of them I had to ask :D
Hey Maachuu. There is a depth offset feature on the Humminbird that will make these issues go away.
Measure the water line to the bottom of your transducer. I have the offset on my front FF, but not on the back. Not as critical on the back.
Wannabe...
However deep your transducer is in the water.....needs to be added what depth your FF is reading.
