Is there anybody out there that wouldn't mind posting their settings they run on their SI units? I run the 998 and still can't seem to get those crystal clear images.

I get tons of clear images with the factory default setting except make the SI range 60 feet. On occasion when I get over really hard bottoms I reduce the sensitivity to get contrast. More often than not the images are blurred because of speed. At factory default setting your speed will need to be 4 to 5 MPH.
I agree with CrappieHunter68. I would make sure my transducer is mounted horizontal and not at an angle. Just imagine your boat sitting in the water and your transducer at that angle. One other thing to try is make sure your chart speed is close to or the same as your speed. This will give you better detail. Make sure you do not have any blockage on either side of the transducer. Just remember the Side Imaging beams shot directly out the side of the transducer.
Okay. I think I will try going back to the factory default settings.
