What is the smallest jig you would use buck-tail on?

I have tied a few 1/32 oz. jigs on a #8 2X long shank. Mostly on the old Blue Tail Fly the bucktail needs to be rolled around the hook just behind the collar on the front. Kip tail is a better choice and strung hackle can also be used. I like to use bucktail on the longer heavier jigs. Like the ones you would use for Bass and Walleye. As I have said before one of the most overlooked hair that can be used is the Badger hair. It makes a great jig and has great action. BTW if you use Bucktail your going to need to tie with heavy thread A is about the lightest you can get by with.

Personally I don't use bucktail fishing or very little since I mostly use feathers, but you could use them on any size jig and see no reason if you cut it short enough and use less material to make the tail, you could put it on a 1/100 oz. jig. I see nothing that keeps you from using it if you want.
They make flies using bucktail so don't see anything that says stop on some small size or it will not work.

For me the smallest would be 1/8. If I want a hair jig smaller than that I use kiptail or rabbit.
Smallest jig I've tied with bucktail is 1/16th oz. but I know guys who tie way down lower than that.
I agree with JungleJim & Fatman - I go down to 1/8 (and rarely 1/16) with thread neck bucktail jigs. Any smaller and i would say to use kip to cut down on waste. That said, i do have a couple patterns i tie in 1/64 that i use... arkansas bucktail and clouser patterns that i tie on jigs. Anything goes i guess. ;)
1/32 oz with a size 8 hook.i haven't used bucktail in quite awhile though.
I have tied bucktail on 1/100 size 8 sickles for trout. Tying then wasn't bad but I wasn't after a lot of material on the jig. I think I used 8-12 hairs on each one and that was tied over a vernille body just to give a little shape and width to the jig. If it is going to work for what oyu need then no size is too small for bucktail.
Thanks for the replies, I'm making some 1/16 & 1/32 jigs for the Fall & have a bunch of small sample bits of bucktail. I figure I would use them up to get rid of them.
