Very curious...

Okay, you Middle TN guys... First, I am not scoping out a new fishing hole. Little too far to drive from Jackson. :)

Last fall, I attended a men's church retreat at a campground on Center Hill Lake. Man, that place is gorgeous. Having never been there, I took my boat, thinking I might find a few crappie... I didn't. Of course, that may have just been because I spent so much time trying to figure out what was wrong with my depth finder, as I was certain that the depths that were showing on the screen couldn't possibly be right. I had no idea that there were waters that deep anywhere in TN!!! Sure a lot different than Reelfoot and KY Lake!!!

I have noticed that there are virtually never any posts on cdc about Center Hill. Just wondered if any of you guys ever fish that hole and, if so, how one goes about locating crappie in 100+ feet of water!!! :D:confused::D

Man I would like to know too!! Deep water to me is 17ft at Reelfoot!! LOL:)

Hey, Lynn. I was freakin' out!!! I even took pictures of my df screen, because I knew no one would believe me. I did a little internet looking when I got back, and they say that the lake actually has depths in the 190s. One of the few times I've been on the water when I actually wanted a life jacket on!!!

Well, I cant speak for any of the other guys in the club, but I have never been on that lake myself. I have not ever heard any of the guys speaking of it. Most of the MTCC guys, live within an hour or less of the three lakes in southern middle Tn. I have been up there before while out traveling, and its beautiful, but have never been on it fishing. Sorry I couldnt help you. Maybe somebody will know something about it.

I haven't fished it either but have a friend who has and he always fishes the docks. Hope this helps.

I focused on the docks, too. Simply because I had no idea where else to try. Next time I visit, I will probably leave the boat at home, but the scenery is well worth the trip. Like I mentioned, I was over there in the fall, just as the leaves were changing. One of the most scenic lakes I have seen.

Only thing I know about it is Fatboy said it was a tough lake to fish. Everyone else that I know that fishes it are chasing green and brown fish. Sounds like one to go to when the leaves start to change.

I have never fished the lake either but I remember reading an article in Tennessee Sportsman a few years back that the TWRA had great success with the blacknose stocking on that lake and it had a great following. The article reported that they were catching very large crappie. That lake is very similar to Dale Hollow and Norris Lake in East TN. I am sorry that I cannot be of further help.
