Crappie at Keystone Dam

Caught about 20 crappie on the low side of the dam. I had absolutely no bites until
they started releasing water. Most of the fish were small but four were 10 inchers.

I did see a couple of guys with a really cool catfish setup. They had made a styrofoam motorized boat (trolling motor for an engine) which they used to drop of their baits right next to the dam. It worked pretty well for them as I watched them catch about 8 decent blues.

Them Catfish guys are very clever. What were you using for bait to catch them Crappies?

I caught them on bobby garland jigs, just letting it sink and then slowly swim back to me. I've seen people have luck with minnows out there as well.

Below dams are good crappie fishing once you figure out their feeding patterns and how they relate to current. Thanks for the report FlyGuy.
