The tails may be a little long but they look good. Not bad for your first jigs.;) Welcome aboard.

I like them and I'm sure the fish will too. Most folks don't put quite that much chenille in thier body though. I don't go back farther than the point on the shank which is even with the hook point. If you go farther back, you reduce the amount of gap in you're hook and you'll miss more fish. For first ties, they look good. Better than my first one's did. LOL Keep up with the discussions from the good folks on here and you'll learn a lot.

Yes all I would say is stop your chenille closer to the point of the hook. Actually maybe between the barb and hook point or there about.

Also I believe you are tying the whole marabou feather on and you should pull off the feathers off the stem and tie it on like that. The stem will just cut down you action and also you can judge how much you want to tie on as your tail. I never leave the stem in unless it's so thin that you can hardly see it. Like most of them are at the very tip. So I would say 98 out of 100 I tie will have not stem at all.
