I don't know man, but just ordered a Magic tool and some CDC to play around with. I thought I was going to be done with dubbing loops since I got into rope dub, but now looks like doing loops and splitting thread is back in my room here.
Darn I don't think there is an end to this sickness!

Just pull up the Magic Tool. I have been wanting some of them but didn't know what it was called, thanks!! LOL now that I know, I'll be getting it ;). Seen some videos of people using them and the flies look very good. Look forward to seeing your pics. :)

Yes they make 2 sizes and I got the small or regular ones. I just don't want to think about splitting thread and you have to with this. I also got some stuff coming that is going to be really strange, but needs to also be tied with a loop. This stuff is like a bunch of really thin rubber bands (not actually a band though) and tied like CDC is I think. Also got a little CDC to try out too.

The rubber hackle stuff has some serious potential! Let me know what you think of the Magic Tool.
Will do qk! This stuff if you have not seen it is very fine rubber strips and is labeled as dub. I am already thinking of using that tool and making a body of this stuff and can change colors so thinking Black & Chart for sure and more.

I know exactly what stuff you're talking about. It seems like you need a dubbing brush to use it, though... I need to get or make a dubbing brush tool. The potential is there to make a GREAT-looking jig out of that stuff!
I ordered a Magic Tool I plan on using this with. The guy told me that you have to sue a dubbing loop for this and I tried other ways and geeze it just goes everywhere, LOL! I was speaking with him when I made my new order and ask him about that stuff as he sent me some as a sample and I just couldn't do anything with it. He said, Yeah you got to make a dubbing loop for it. So here I am and was going to get the Magic Tool anyway. Also got the DVD from them that tell how to use all their tools and was told it's a very good DVD with lots of tips and I kind of could use it since I have several of his tools and some not sure I am using them correct.
So when it comes in I will learn to split the thread and make a loop, but I also went on and got some CDC to play with too.
I too think it can make some great stuff and I already plan on making a body that is 2 or even 3 colors all divided so it would may be something like Black & Chartreuse or Blue and Chartreuse.

Before you order more CDC, give me a shout. I might know a guy who likes to kill ducks and geese more than tie jigs! ;) If we have a good year, I'll be well into filling up a gallon Ziplock by the end of November.
Oh will do! Thanks, and geese have what I have been told the biggest CDC. I may have some from Ducks the guys around here got for me. I know they got a good many wood ducks for me and I think a guy down in South LA. sent me some pintail and not sure what else, maybe some mallard.Quote:
