Those are awsum!
For flounder the Eagle Claw is OK. For stripers you should use Mustad - they make a better hook.
I have never bent an Eagle Claw in the 635 or 630 yet.I've never used these two sizes yet though. My best has been a 41 pounder out of Sommers Point, New Jersey with a 2 1/2 oz. H Jig with an Eagle Claw 635 7/0.
Make them better, don't tie the marabou down so much if at all. It will naturaly flow back when you fish it and when you stop it will flare and move wildly if you leave it sticking out more. Palmering is a lot of work to tie it down so much.
I do like the fire tiger a lot.
Until I was introduced to the VMC jig hooks and the Ultra point Mustad I used EC 630 for all my jig making. After putting plenty of fish on the bank over 25# with them I have to say they work pretty good. I just like the VMC and UP better because of their profile and size more than how good they are.
I used to pour with Eagle Claw and I can't say that I have had a problem. However, look at what the guys who are producing quality saltwater jigs are using. They prefer Mustad over Eagle Claw by a huge margin. I did switch to Mustad and my buddy in the Gulf, who runs a charter boat, reports that he likes them a lot better. The Mustad is a forged hook, which makes it a lot stronger.

I'll check some out psilvers,Even an old dog can learn a new trick, lol.Especially when I start going out after them Bluefins.
I still just like pulling all the fibers off the stem and tying it like that. Nothing better IMHO than marabou with no stem.
Oh and I keep all the tips for small jigs and flies. I pull off all starting from the big end and stop when the fibers get short enough so limit the tail and save it for later. I keep a zip lock in each bag of marabou that I put all the ends in with what stem is left after I cut off the big end after all the fibers have been removed. It just makes for a neater baggy if you cut the part of the stem off which all the barbules have been taken.
You actually can use the small stems if you want for whiskers or antenna with a little coloring to the Black side. I quit saving them as I got too many, LOL!

I like em both although I might add a little crystal flash flash to the sides to make it sparkle a bit more.
