I know this is the "jig tying" forum, but this part of CdC has become my favorite so I figured I'd post it here. While jigs may still be a little new to me, most of my energy is spent tying flies and fly fishing. Here was one I tied up tonight that I actually took a picture of instead of just throwing it in my fly box. Bluegills love flies like this!

Nice tie Zac! That kind of fly is one of my favorites to tie. Just love soft hackle flies.
What did you dub with? Is it hares mask?
As far as just being jig board though some of us still would show and tie flies. I do for sure and not long ago I posted some of mine so show what you want to. Most of the guys in here can learn something from flies or should.

That's actually fox squirrel, Skip. It's my favorite dubbing to use if I want a really buggy looking fly.
Ok thanks. Didn't know for sure what it was and just couldn't see the colors either other than dark brown looking.

I like to see flies.They give us all a good thing to try out on our little jigheads,lol.Well me anyway.Nice bug.

You learn a lot! Maybe not something that can translate directly to your jig tying, but it helps it out in the long run. Everyone should be able to tie a Clouser IMO.Quote:
