It's that time of year again!
Break out the butter and salt!
Anybody ever try roasting corn on the grill "unwrapped" - only the cob without the husks?
Any hints?

I always soak my corn in water in the husk then grill it. Or you can microwave it. I have never tried it straight on the grill with no husk.
May try it.

always husks on
yea, husk on, holds all the moisture in. Make sure you soak em for awhile in water, if not the husk will take to flame pretty quick. I love corn on the grill. I dont even use butter or seasoning when its done; cant wait that long.
I had always left the husks on till a buddy did some shucked. kept basting em with butter and would only turn em a little when they started making popping sounds. I figured they would be dry and hard but it was quite the opposite. Try 1 that way next time ya gonna cook up a batch. Ya might be surprised.
I like it without husk, just throw it on there. Good stuff.
Never tried it on the grill w/o the husk, I'll have to give it a go when we can get some on the cob again.
Another good way we do it when camping...
-soak in water first - min. 1/2 day.
-then wrap corn (with husk) in foil
-let the camp fire die down to a nice bed of red hot embers
-put foiled corn right in the coals & turn with fire poker every now & then.
-remove foil & husk, add butter & salt
Voila Camp Corn! :)
