A little beadery
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...l/Beadjigs.jpg
I made these a while ago and had misplaced them in my steelhead stuff. Thought I would share them because they are so easy to make. I know these are technicaly not jigs but they are too heavy to use for panfish fly fishing. I can't throw them on anything under a 7 wt anyway. They work well under a float and are really good in rivers.
The head on these is Lion Brand Yarn. It is a really fluffy yarn that makes tying the head on really easy. One could do anythng for the head, hackle, cactus or other broad chenille, peacock, and probably a lot of other things.
Tying the beads in is simple, getting them on is harder. Have to sort a lot of beads to get ones that will fit but at the price for these beads it isn't bad.
Big question is does anyone think they will work for crappie and other panfish?

I always knew that you were a "hippy",lol.

What size hook is it? Small sizes they should work for panfish. Panfish are little pigs, they never pass up a meal!

No hippy in my, just have 3 kids. I use what I need and they use what I can't.
3 different hook types:
left and right sides are a 37160 mustad size 6 and 8.
Top is a size 6 salmon beak/egg type hook
Bottom middle is a size 8 regular streamer fly hook
Can't tie them on much bigger hooks because the beads are so small unless you do something else or put a lot of beads on.

Put 'em under an indicator! Gills will eat those...
