then and now
I saw a post the other day about all the stumps in lake conway that used to be trees and it got me thinking about how things have changed over the years. I've been around a few years and i know the lakes have changed quite a bit in that time...but i started wondering what they all looked like before my time in say the 60s or 70s. I was curious if anyone had any old pictures of the lakes or if there were any major differences that you can remember and would want to share.

Sure do remember when Nimrod had acres of Buck Brush all along the banks. Then some dumb arses got the lake level raised 3' each spring thinking it would help fishing. The brush needs to leaf out without being flooded every spring. This is a flood control lake , but when the COE keep it up an extra 3' each spring it does'nt have a chance to grow. Well now it's 90 % gone!:(:eek:
