Ok I tried to double wrap the chenille on my jig tonight and it looks ok, but not sure I'm doin the way to make it look the best? When you double wrap where do you stop to tie of the chenille?
Thanks,

I start at the head and lay it against the hook shank and wrap back to where you want it to end. Then I wrap the thread about 8 times around the chenille and shank then take my thread back up to the head. Then I start to wrap the chenille tight around twice keeping it straight until I get back to the head. Then finish it off.My way anyway, lol.
I start at the middle just over the tied on tail feather, go to the head then back to the middle, and finish at the head.
What I do it start just like it's going to be one layer of wrap and then when you get back to the head where you would whip finish, instead of finish, just trap the chenille with one time over at the head and then stat like it was your first wrap and when you get back to the head this time it is time to whip finish.
Not sure how you do one so let me tell what I do with the first wrap. I catch the chenille with a one time over the end to trap it and I hold is along the hook shank and wrap thread all the way to where you want to stop and then just stop the chenille for a minute and just wrap the thread back to the head and stop, then wrap the chenille back to the head and now both are there and you would whip finish if it's a one layer chenille jig and it's also the same spot you start the second layer if it's a double wrap.
Maybe should have done the second part first, but it's just an in case so put it last.

I only tie down about 1/8th" right past the head, then wrap the chenille back, then forward over itself. Never had any problems.
