My name is Mike and i'm a newbie to the forum.
Poured some jigs and painted them for the first time this weekend.
Couldn't have done without this forum and all the knowlegable members.Thank you. I have a Thompson model A vise on the way and will be taking a crack .

Looks really good. Off to a great start. If you take the few without a full collar and cut them off next to the head you'll have some with and without. I say this because that real short collar can be a pain in the butt to tie on.

What do you use to cut the short collar off?
I use a pair of sidecutters.They go through the lead very easy.Just squeeze and turn the jighead and squeeze a little at a time until the collar comes loose.Then I just cut along the hook shank and it falls off.

One thing I would warn you about is the ending of the paint job. Where the paint ends before the collar does and you have exposed lead it may eventually start to mess up the paint from underneath so I would just coat that part with clear nail polish. I know some older painted heads have done this before. Other than that welcome to the addiction.
