Universal crappie box
I fish northern Indiana, southern michigan, northern minnesota, reelfoot kentucky lake truman lake norfork res.. Got to thinking if a guy was going to fish crappie all over the United States what all colors would he need? I basicly carry five colors White, chartruse, pink, blue and black. I carry all in solid colors and mixtures; both in plastics and hand ties. What would you add to the selection or what do you carry?

Better get some grey in there.
-
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- Silver -!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silver head - Silver tinsel chenille - Gray bou or zonker tail.
-
Orange and brown I would add
-
Gotta have some orange in there.
Orange is also good for other species (walleye, smallies, white bass, perch)
if the crappies are not cooperating.
-
Add gray, yellow and orange. Orange and chartreuse combination is killer here early in the morning or around dusk.
-
pumkin-pepper/cht---- blue/cht
-
Gotta go with the orange/chartruese and cotton candy hot pink w/green &purple flake.
Another thing you really need to check is those states that don't allow lead jigs or the jigs have to be a certain size!!!!!

Lead head, gray or silver chenille, and a gray maribou with a light touch of black maribou on the hook point side, maybe a little red flash in there too. Good shad or minnow pattern that put's a lot of fish in my boat. Pearl flash works good too. 1/32 and 1/16 with red hooks.

If I had to whittle it down to just a few colors or color combo's I would leave out these (not the only ones I would need, but to cut it)....
Silver/Blue/White (not getting on the water with out these) an late spring after water clears some.
Chart/Blue/Chart (early spring here this is best one)
My newest addition to killer for sure...Silver/Silver/Blue
FL Red/Kelly Green/Fl Yellow Been using that for over 35 years.
I could keep going, but will just stop with my Black Widow and you can see it on my site, but Black/FL Yellow & Black Variegated/Black, got to have something for dark water and after dark..
