Oologah Corps Brushpiles

I heard from a friend that you can stop by the Oologah Corps office and take your SD card inside and they would load all the brushpiles onto your card for you. I guess you would have to let them know what brand GPS you have so that they will know what format to use for it to work. Has anyone else heard this?

I met guy a guy for up north about 3 years ago that came down to fish the last tournament that was put on for crappie at oologah. He had been to the corp office and they had put the brush piles on his Lowrance unit for him by way of the sd card. He took me fishing the next day spiderrigging. That was the first time I had ever seen somebody use that method of fishing. We caught 2 or 3 that day and I showed him my limited knowledge of the lake.

If you need an upload of the piles into your GPS. I would recommend using that GPX file that DNchance made on the oologah report thread. I wasnt sure if the GPX format would work with my system but it did. Just save it to your hard drive first, then transfer it to your SD card, and then of course transfer it to your GPS system via the CARD. Come to find out, the GPX format is pretty universal from what I have read.

I spoke to my Corps buddy at Oologah and to answer your question, yes, if you stop by the Corps office at Oologah directly across from the entrance to the Hawthorne boat ramp, they will make every effort to load the brush piles on your locator for you. I'm not sure of the compatibility between the different types of locators and the files they require (I use Lowrance). I do know the Corps uses Lowrance units to mark the piles.

Bring in an SD Card that is not the HC type (I believe that stands for High Capacity) when you come and we can load the brushpiles to your chip. We typically load the USR file to the SD card, but i have used the GPX extension also. Make sure to call ahead and tell us the make of your GPS and we can figure it out. We will make it work.

Thanks for loading mine for me! It works great! If there is a way to load the other years piles beyond '09s, let us know. I'd love to have the others too!
