Be prepared to pay $7.50 per person to launch. During this time of year try to arrive there early as possible. Start off concentrating on the "lilly pads" next to channel where shade is available. Lighten up on your jig size and let it fall slow all the way to the bottom if necessary.
If this doesn't produce, try the channel itself. Water will be deeper here and cooler. SLOW presentation should work best. Some of my favorite colors out there are a lime green/chart. skirt with a chart. head. or a "smoke" color with speckles fished with a chart. head.
Hope this helps but if it doesn't, feel free to call me at 501-231-3374.
Thanks a bunch!!!
saw where catfishing was pretty good there? any spot better than the rest or better to focus on. may try those too....
$7.50 per person....Is this really per person or per boat??? Sounds like the Peckerwood folks are "cleaning up" on the the poor crappie fishermen!!! Either way....that's pricey!
Fishing is just like any sport - expensive as heck! However,
$7.50 fee;
$80 for gas for the truck;
$25 for gas for the boat;
$25 for snacks/drinks;
catching your limit of slab crappie and showing everyone - priceless!
