Have'nt been catching anything on any color jigs lately.Spinnerbaits yes,live worms yes.Figured maybe it was a color thing.So,I'm gonna try black and white.Heck,I have never tried it,maybe it will be my ticket.This is a 1/16 with white kip.Keeping my fingers crossed.Maybe it being 110 degrees might have something to do with it,lol.
Hopefully you'll get them to bite. Yep the weather will slow them down for sure.
I tried using jigs the other day and couldn't get a bite. I tried pulling crankbaits and that seemed to be what the crappie wanted. My son in law and I caught 10 nice ones in the next couple of hours.
Good jig, hang in there with em. This hot weather has got to give a little.
I know 110 degrees will definitely slow me down and keep me off the water. :D:D It has been 95+ here in Alabama for the past four weeks. When I go fishing I leave out about 3:30 a.m. so I can be at Weiss Lake or Guntersville by 5:30 a..m. and fishing. At 8:30 it is time to head home with 15-20 crappies and shellcrackers for me. I do not night fish because I can't see at night well enough to drive. Otherwise I just wait for an overcast or much cooler day and go then. It is nice to be retired and the children are all on their own in different states. The wife and I can travel whenever we want or fish when the time is available. (She reads, I fish.) The fish are about 17 foot deep now so I try to find banks near bridges or channels with a steep drop off. Take care my friend.Quote:

Easy PRACTICE!!!!!!! That 1/64 oz jig head is HUGH compared to a size 24 down to 32 fly tying hook. All just a matter of proportion, the smaller you go the less material you use.
