Repairing transducer wire
I have fallen victim to the Powerdrive/transducer wire gremlins. I was on the lake tonight and got onto my Powerdrive pedal without being able to watch for the transducer cable. I ended up spinning the motor and apparently damaging the transducer cable. There does not appear to be any external damage like separation or torn insulation but there may be a flattened area just below the head of the TM. The transducer is for a HB 788c. Is it at all possible to repair a transducer cable? I have good soldering skills and would be comfortable doing that. What other issues would I have to deal with as far as shielding? Would I be better off just replacing it? The unit is 3 months old and I'm kicking myself for not paying attention.
