Smithville Bass fishing ?

How many of you guys fish Smithville lake for Bass ? What is the best area of the lake for Bass ?
I have seen the blast off for the Burtons weekly tournaments and about half of the boats go up Camp Branch . I'd like to find some good weedbeds for fishing topwater .
I'll throw topwater for a while at daybreak postspawn and that's about all I've done so far . I had one blowup on a buzzbait in the Trimble Lake area this morning , but I didn't spend much time fishing for Bass. I haven't dedicated a trip for Bass yet . I have been reluctant to put down the Crappie pole when they are biting.
I'd like to get a general idea of the pattern this time of the year . With the water being high , I thought they might get up into the willow bushes .

been a while,but top water early-till about 9,them plain old rubber worm worked for me.
Last crankbait I bought for bass fishing cost 2.99,so ya know its been a while-those sucker are pushing a 10 spot now,and more if its Japanese.

I fished for Bass today for about and hour up Camp Branch after catching a some keeper crappie then getting blown off my spot .
I fished a trap around some of the weeds flats and caught and released one nice Bass with a bigger Bass following it to the boat . I had another one follow the lure to the boat . I flipped around some trees and flooded willows , but no takers. The Bass I caught was in 3-5' .
The Crappie I caught were in 12-20' of water about 10' down . I kept 6 , with the biggest around 12" with a bunch of short fish . I think the average size is better up the Platte arm , but the keepers can be caught up in Camp Branch as well.
I was off the water by noon , and came home to clean fish and cool off . I had a good morning on the water .

I caught a few Bass this morning , along with this 5 lber . I caught them flipping brush with a Lizard in 3-5' .

LOL, maybe next time . :) I had a hard time trying to hold it up and get a picture of it with my cellphone. I released her just after I took the picture .

When you say brush do you mean the flooded willows and grass? I was down there last night and couldn't get a bite out of the willows. I did catch a couple of nice ones on a jig fishing deep points. Thanks, Dave
