When should i go to KY Lake?

I was thinking about heading to KY Lake for a weekend. I usually go in spring time but was unable. I don't have a boat so I would be bank bustin, or hire a guide. Would I be better to just wait until October? I know where to go in April but they are probably gone by now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what you want to catch......

The crappie are probably gone but I wouldn't mind some bluegill and redears

Go below either KY or Barkley dams and catch some good bluegill off the bank.
May find a white bass or stripe also.

Full moon on June 26..They may be back near the bedding areas.
