After giving this a little thought, I'd think it would cause a lot of drag on the boat slowing it down. I've never seen Rhino that was smooth, however it would help protect the bottom from nicks and dings.JMO
My buddy has a Donzi F23 we fish out of and its been rhino on the underside. Not sure how much it slows the boat down, but it is rough.
i'm pretty sure a good tech can spray it smooth. the rough or texture surface in an application technique. i think its a great idea. those types of coatings weigh around 9lbs/gal. good luck
Adds alot of weight and the drag will definately slow you down. A friend of mine has a jon done that way. It has now been deemed a pond boat.
if i'm not mistaken, they use about 3 gallons/ pick-up bed times 9lbs/gal = roughly 27-30lbs extra. your boat is probably twice as big. twice as heavy. whether or not the polymer adds more friction than the aluminum i don't know. the hardness ratings on some of those coating is around 65 shore D. that's pretty hard, probably harder than paint. good luck
you should try steelflex. it is used alot on tinboat.net. here is a link to a forum chat about it. there are many post at steelflex on tinboat.net you can do a search on tinboat.net. everything steelflex - TinBoats.net
steelflex appears to be the better fix
Don't think the Rhino would work on the out side but it does on the inside of a tin boat. It seals the rivets on the inside as well ... My son and I had a 14" lo sided narrow jon done and it works great ... I have seen them do several of the State of FL. Wildlife Boats .
my 2 cents worth

Thanks for your ideas guys :). I think going with the rhino on the inside would be the best option since i don't want to lose any speed from the drag it would create on the bottom.
