Fed up with Humminbird!
Went out for a short trip this afternoon to test some work I did on the boat and just had to slip in a little fishin':D
Boat did great, but the 586C locator died! Already had it replaced once and this one did the exact same thing with less than a year on it!
Have the extended warranty and found out BPS goes through a 3rd party company for repairs/replacement which really sucks! That wasn't explained to me when I bought the coverage! will probably take 4 to 6 weeks for repair or replacement, so I might be looking for an empty seat with y'all:D
At any rate, my next unit will not be a Humminbird and I seriously doubt it comes from BPS either!
Oh yeah, almost forgot the report. Point 15 on the Rock. Water was a really nasty green with lots of scum floating all over and seen hundreds and hundreds of dead minners floating. Only caught one dink and a 13" green carp. Water temp was 82 to 85, if I can believe the Humminbird before it died. Grrrr!

You know what they say about "....a bad day fishing...." :D
Hate to hear about your locator problems. I've had quite a few over the years, and just replaced my dashboard Lowrance unit TWICE in the last two years... Each failed JUST past the 1yr mark, so the kind folks at Lowrance told me just which bridge I needed to go jump off of.
I've had Humminbirds go bad before also, but never in 1yr, and never consecutively.
Must be like the Ford/Chevy brand loyalty fight... loyalty depends on your particular (and recent) experience with the brand. That is, unless you're OSS, then the scale is a bit skewed. :D:D
