I thought about doing that exact idea. Also I thought about clipping the tip off the top and backing the rods down and shooting another color down the center of the tube until it reaches the tail. This will make a solid body core shot sort of.
However I am having several issues with my new tube mold. I have to work some kinks out of it. The core pins are cut so that you can roll them and cut the tils but the plastic flexes and it being such a small tube, it shreds them. I am not sure if a cutter like you use snake will work because the tails are already partially lined from the core pins. I will let you know when I get it figured out.
Thos tubes look nice that you just posted
does that make you harder for you to work with since they are molded for the skirt part . The only issue that I have is pulling the bodies off the rods is time-consuming. But we still enjoyed the mold very much. I would like to have one like yours. We have a 3 inch which is light years but is single cavity. I would imagine a multi-mold like yours would be a little costly but if that was the 20 cavity or even 16 cavity it would be well worth the money I wouldn't mind paying over $100 for one or even more.
Nice looking bait Snake
