Tied first crappie candy
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...ppiecandy1.jpg
Here are my first attempts at crappie candy, not too bad but not my best work for sure. Very light they could be used as flies but I will likely jig with them under a float or from a boat. I know I am supposed to be using straight eye hooks but I don't have any so these will have to do.

Those look good to me. A split shot or two up the line a bit will cure that weight issue.

Very nice! I am sure they take a little longer to tie.

Yes light weight for sure and are flies. Hooks can be substituted to what you have and still work fine. I use several different ones and some don't have the straight eye. I usually do use some type streamer hook.
The look fine and I see you have played with material type and color, so that is a good thing too.

They take a little time but I have tied ones that take a LOT longer. I just need to get the tie off smaller and work on quantity of material for both gills and crappie.
-
Skip, what do you use for the bottom material, what would be the back when in the water material?
-
Look good. I have never seen any of them before, nice.

look like fish catchers to me. Look real good
