Trout on White River
Anyony been trout fishing on the White lately thinking about taking my dad this weekend.
Heard there was a lot of floating moss and it was hard to drift fish which is what he likes to do. We like to fish where the Norfork flows into the White. Someone said to go up river to the whitehole.
Thanks

About 3 or 4 weeks ago a friend of mine who has a cabin in the Mount Olive area told me he couldn't fish because of all the moss drifting down the river, but I haven't heard anything since then. I was fishing on the White River Saturday around Jacksonport and didn't notice any moss, but that's a good bit down river.

I have fished in the Calico Rock, Mountain View stretch (which includes Mt.Olive) for 30 years and temporarily stopped going there about 6 weeks ago because the moss was so bad. Went to Cotter last week and fished about 7 miles of the river up there and they also had moss, just not as bad. The guides I talked to have been taking their clients to Bull Shoals State Park stretch of the river as there is less moss there. The farther downriver you go, the worse the moss is. Talked to one guide who fished the day I was there and he said they caught about 80 trout drift fishing. Also talked to the dock folks at Jack's Resort Sunday and was told they were catching lots of fish there, despite the moss. Hope this helps.

Hey guys thanks for the input looks like we might just stay around and look for bream on Conway. Sure would be nice to be on the White with it being so hot and catching a cool breeze off the river.
