I knew we got a lot of rain overnight but didn't realize how much until I got to the lake and there was a swift current running through the marina, which is on a creek arm and not the main river. The lake was up several feet and rising fast. It's now over 5-feet higher than it was yesterday.
I started hearing sketchy reports about the death and distruction that occureed at Albert Pike and Caddo Gap early this morning when family and friends started calling to see if we were OK after seeing it on the news. It was hard to concenrate on finding some crappie that weren't too shell-shocked to eat after hearing the news but they had all the volunteers they could use in the area.
Our place is about half-way between the Caddo and Little Missouri rivers but the house and shop are on high ground.
It's been a sad day for sure.
