montrose lake

anybody ever fish it, west of 13 south of clinton I think.

It's pretty shallow Beagle, use to be pretty good for crappie but haven't heard any good reports for some time. Losts of guy's catfish it. Maybe someone will have good input for ya.

Used to fish it in the winter, be snow on the ground and we would wade out in the hot water discharge with hip waders on and cast 1/32 jigs in the current and catch lots of nice crappie,,,,, then the great MCD put stripers in, there goes the crappie, last time I worked over there we caught some dinks at the intake (illegal) but had to try it anyway....... :)

BEAGLE it is a generating lake. Has awesome catfish and bass fishing but the crappie are all stunted and little these days. Real shallow lake also.

I heard it was named after a "Monty" somebody. :D

I have heard somewhere that it is shallow. Not sure where I heard it tho??

thanks greg, I was talking to a guy that fished up there and he said it looked pretty good for crappie, but didn't elaborate on what he was fishing for.

Bob that is what I read somewhere, not sure where though. ranger are you sure you said that, I best check the arcives for more info
