I am thinking of getting this cracker mounted, its only 10" but went 1 1/4 lb. Its no record, but by far the biggest I've ever got. Should I do it? Or wait for a bigger one?

I would wait but it's up to you. I caught 2 11"ers yesterday just north of you in northern Indiana. We saw some more giants but we already had what we wanted.
A mounted trophy should be more about the memories of the event more than it just being a big fish. If it was a good trip with great company and lots of good times, then yes it should be mounted. I've mounted several redears that were smaller that really meant a lot to the client. The choice is up to you in the end since it is your $$ you are spending.

That thing looks like a pie plate! That's a dandy and I'm sure it looks much bigger in person. Pictures never do big fish justice, you've got to be there in person to appreciate the fish IMO. You and I fish the same public waters and my goal has always been to mount a two pound redear. I'm starting to realize how hard and expensive this goal is becoming on these waters. I would probably mount a fish that weighed at least 1.8lb, I've backed off the two pound benchmark.
That fish has an awesome look to it, being that heavy at only 101/2 inches is really something. Usually these local redear have to be at least 111/2 or more inches to weigh that much. It's a special fish indeed because of the dimensions...I'd probably wait on something a little bigger. As much as you fish, there's no question you'll catch a larger redear. You seem to target them specifically, so you'll catch a bigger one at Quick Creek probably.
This one weighed 1 3/4 lbs and was 12" long. The best fighter I ever had as well as my biggest shellie ever.
Some nice catches represented,have it mounted it if you want to or maybe do a ink tracing? don`t know the technical term for it

If it was me I'd eatem,I'm not into mounts,I have eatem them before,mount him if you have the means to do so.Maybe your next outing you can put his bigger sister beside him or her.If you have the means I'd do a chain mount of 3 or 4 about that size or smaller.I think single big fish mounts are ok but the chain mounts with 3 or 4 smaller fish will get more attention.I seen a picture years ago of a chain mount of 4 crappie and 4 bream all 4 inches long.Mount it.............
