Nimrod- I think it's okay to use some of the additives for certain things. As for a cure all for ethanol problems, it doesn't sound like any of them will help. The chart at the bottom of that page would be a good guide to go by. Don't use a brand that has alcohol in it or is water soluble.

I have been using sea foam for several years now. Last year I had the head gaskets changed (1998) nothing wrong just figured it was time. The cylinders and piston heads looked great. The guys at the marina was saying that they wished all engines they get look that way. They said I should see the engines that done use the sea foam, there solid black.
Euopean marine on bbc has this cocktail for mercury:
1 oz EACH product for every 6 gallons of fuel.
