Will be opened Friday for boating, at least on the north side i.e. Clear Bay and the Dam ramps.
Found this posted today in a local newpaper........Lake Thunderbird State Park officials have decided to reopen five boat ramps throughout the park by Saturday, May 22. Boat ramps at Turkey Pass (Clear Bay), South Dam, Post Oak, Hog Creek and North Sentinel will be available.
Boaters are urged to use caution as there is still some debris in the water.
thats good to know think im going to go giver a try in the morning probaly going to launch from hog creek around 6ish going to take my little brother and dog out yall think its going to be pack this weekend at Tbird?
my brother me and the dog went to Tbird yesterday morning and we were going to go up little river and then i went to adjust my transducer and ended up breaking it off :( and so ended up going to clear bay and we caught the crap outa of the crappie :) and the my little brother caught a walleye that was about 12" so he threw it back then we went to the island and caught some more and i hook in to something big and it bent my pole over and got it almost to the boat and it turned side ways and came off but when it turned side was i seen its side and it was BIG not sure what it was i didnt hit real hard and fought hard but never jumped im thinking it was a big crappie, large mouth or a sandie im not to sure its side was white but never seen its head
we were using silver and gray they were some of the jig swap jigs that i participated in
and right as we were heading back to the boat ramp a guy from the oklahome department of wildlife was going around the lake wanting to know if we had caught/kept anything and how big and stuff like that just seeing how people were doing sence Tbird had just open back up and i asked him if any one else was doing any good and he said that we were doing better then any else he had seen that morning so i guess we were doing something right :)
Hit Tbird Thursday. Didn't get there until about 10am but several get there after I did. Saw a fair amount of boats and talked to a few and pretty much no one was catching alot of anything. Over about 5 hrs I caught around 15 nothing big, a couple 8''s was about it. I left them all there to grow. The last cove i was in, I was 1 of 5 boats. I went by and checked the damaged marina and the video doesnt do it justice for all the damage done. Not going this weekend but will hit it again next week. Have a safe holiday weekend......b49
