World's fastest Gill Fillet!

I stumbled across this the other day. If you haven't seen it, WOW!!!:eek::eek::eek: I have started filleting all my fish this way. Best part is there are no guts on the cleaning table and you get the whole fillet. With a crappie or larger fish you do need to trim out the pin bones as they are larger than the Gills and Crackers and are not pleasant to bite into.

Watch it a couple of times and then time him. 43 Seconds!!!:eek::cool::eek::cool::D

i agree thats pretty good, perfect for places where you dont have electricity but a electric fillet knife is the best thing ever invinted for cleaning fish the fastest way. he has skills though, i admitt that.

I clean mine similar but leave skin attached to the fish carcass. Have had several folks try to out clean me on fish with electric knives. I use a sharp fillet knife and try not to cut any bones. If done my way you have a pair of boneless fillets and a fish carcass with skin still hanging on it.:D

I've been utilizing this guys method except I just leave the skin on I don't mind it it comes right off after cooking.

I use the same method as that guy, but I'm not THAT good. I don't believe my knife has ever been that sharp either.

If you put your gills on ice overnight, you can clean them that fast. It firms them up and makes it a breeze to clean them. Still need a sharp blade tho.

He is pretty fast with a regular knife.

Thats the old fashoned way ,I learned to do it when i was a kid ,we scaled them then ,
that guy was really good ,made it look easy

I do mine the same as you NIMROD, leave the skin attached just before the tail, flop it back with the fillet attached and slide the fillet right off the skin. I have also had quite a few people try to do it faster with several methods, including electric, and it just doesn't happen. I have it down to between 30 and 45 seconds per fish.
