Hey Slab
I've been trying Slab Sauce and found it does work. HOWEVER, I can't keep it on my jigs. I've tried forcing it into the Chenille and Flash and it is completely gone by the end of my second retrieve. The fish I've caught while using it have come on my first catch. If there is a way to make it more sticky (like honey) posibly that might be the answer. You said to be honest and give actual feedback and that's what I'm doing. The Liquid Minnow is of the same consistancy and needs more "sticky" also.
I'll keep trying and reporting..............

I don't know about chenille, but you can put a small piece of sponge inside a tube to hold scent.

Im sure scent works and help but i dont think its a deal breaker. I have been wanting to try scents more but do fine without. You could possibly take a chamois and cut it into little strips and soak it in your scent and then just attach a strip on you hook. My dad talked about catch bluegill on chamois when he was a kid with no bait. Uncle josh used to make panfish pork, same principle.

I appreciate the feedback. The stuff is sticky, except after when your jig gets wet. I don't know how to make it stick onto "wet". Even honey does not stick to anything "wet". This is kinda why I'm in the process of developing a dough like super thick scent you can poke onto a hook. But I have to say, you don't really need to see the stuff on the lure. It still has scent. Smell the jig, you'll see that its still stinky. You don't need a glob. You can dry the jig on a rag and apply again. I find that if you squirt the Liquid Minnow up a tube Jig it stays good and stinky for quite a while.
Great feedback. The scent is the right "stink", ongoing improvement will certainly go on with the scent particularly with your fantastic comments and suggestions. Thanks again.

I used/tried Slab Sauce & Bait Butter for the first time on 5/6/10 (see my post in New York section). The fish (in my opinion) favored Slab Sauce over Bait Butter (though BB is much thicker). Hopefully weather will cooperate and will be able to use both to form a more informative opinion. However, SS did appear to work better of the two
