Can't seem to figure out what's going on with the big female crappie. Have been to this same lake three times this spring with the same results. Catching 20 -30 each time and the majority of the small fish are females with eggs and the better fish are all males. The smaller females are closer to the bank while the larger males are a little deeper. Just wondering where the larger females might be holding. Or have they already spawned?
be persistant, I ran intot his a couple times, I could never catch the bigger fish shallow, only smaller ones, and then one day, light a light switch, I started pulling big females out of the bushes. But also, try some staging areas, and post spawn areas also just n case.

Glad to know you are catching a few fish. Hang in there, the big ladies will bite. Patiences. Keep throwing at them. Slow your presentation. It will all be good!
