Wind and Weatherman

Yesterday, all Memphis weathermen had the wind NNE @8, we get to Grenada at 6:00 am and it has 3 to 4 foot rollers. Well after driving and hour I tell Sat we can get out of the wind somewhere. Went out to Carver Point and the wind on the Skuna side was 15 to 20 out of the NNE and on the Yalabousha side was 10 to 15 out of the ESE. I still can't figure that one out. If we could have stayed where we started fishing I think we could have filled the boat up but they will be there when we return.

You boys don't know how good ya got it. You could have had this report from Sunday:

Man, it sure was windy in my back yard Sunday while I cut grass and took care of the "garden". It was so bad I didn't even get to #7 on the honey do list.

Torch you ought to know by now wind and weathermen blend together about as well as oil and water

I let the weatherman scare me off from going today and now it looks like I really need to be there

torch, it was good to see u too.....we only managed 8, that wind was brutal at times. i think the drop in water temp. had something to do with the fish not being there....i thought we were gonna wear them out when we first pulled up there, lol. caught 4 in a few minutes, then lockjaw.

Enid was rough yesterday morning but the wind was out of the East. Mostly NE but sometimes SE. We stayed up against the trees pretty close and was out of it except for our trip from ramp to trees. Those were the only times I thought my little boat was going to fill up with water. Don't really matter too much I guess. It's insured and either due to good sense or regulation we always have our life jackets on. I would have hated to lose my fish though.

AND the ones we caught were in about 5 feet of water. I ain't managed to catch more than 2 or 3 that were shallower than 4 feet...maybe 3.5...last year we were catching them much shallower. So I gots a question.

Of course water temp, rising falling levels, and God knows what else affect crappie's habits, but does this spawn indicate that the crappie will be crazy for the rest of the year. At the same time I was catching them at 8 feet last year am I going to need to expect to go more than 8?
