Need Some Help
First I would like to tell everyone on the board Hello and Happy New Year.
My father-in-law and myself went fishing this past Sat and had I guess you could say some awful luck. I only caught 2 nice Crappie. Anyways... Santa brought me a nice gift for Christmas which was a Lowrance X-125. My whole goal Saturday was to go out and try out this new toy. I fish the Lake Des Allemands area and we found that most places (canal's and the Lake itself) was only 6-9 feet deep at most. The only place that we saw extreme depth change was in the Bayou. There we saw anywhere from 3-18 feet changes.
I suppose what I am getting at is what would some of you all suggest I try to put more fish in the boat? Am I doing something wrong?
I caught both of my fish with the Crystal Shad Bass Assassin shad.
I even had shiners as back up. And nothing.
Could someone help me start a successful fishing year?
Thanks in advance for your help.

i would troll the deepest drop off and any brush or stumps . if there isen`t anything there and you would like to fish it regular i would sugest put out some condoes . with the water being shallow keep them short enough that they will be 3 to 4 ft. below serface . bambo is good if you have any . tie 2 blocks togather and stick the stump part in the holes in the blocks . that will let them lay down . check some of the condoes made on theis site . pvc is hard to find on depth finder so you will need to know where they are .

Thanks for the input Papa.... I read somewhere that PVC will not show up on the depth finder. Is that true? I'm not sure on where to find some Bamboo. But I'll look. Thanks again for the help.

a good strong high sensitive depth finder will pick up . you mightput something in the pipe like a sticks . or something that will help. your depth finder has a sensitivity setting . try setting it high . or just remember where it is
